The beer garden at the Viktualienmarkt is considered the most centrally located beer garden in the Bavarian capital, Munich. Under shady chestnut trees, you can relax after an invigorating shopping spree through the city center.
There are 1100 seats at classic beer benches where you can watch the hustle and bustle at the Viktualienmarkt.
A special feature of the beer garden is that the beer steins are not filled by a single brewery, but by different large Munich breweries on a rhythmic rotation approximately every six weeks.
Since its opening in 1970, the beer garden at the Viktualienmarkt has been a popular meeting place for all Munich residents and tourists, who relax with a view of the maypole and the splashing Weiß-Ferdl fountain and enjoy the beer.
